Dustin Heavilon Engineering Scholarship

The Dustin Heavilon Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of a dedicated Tennessee TSA member whose life was tragically cut short during high school. Known for his passion for engineering and innovation, Dustin inspired those around him through his leadership and commitment. This scholarship is awarded to students who share that same passion and have been accepted into a college or university to pursue a degree in engineering.

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must be a current member of an active, affiliated Tennessee TSA chapter.

  • Candidate must have been accepted into a college or university undergraduate program.

  • Candidate must have been a Tennessee TSA member for at least one (1) full year.

Requirements and Guidelines:

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation, open, but not limited to:

    • Teacher, advisor, principal, or CTE director;

    • Employer or community leader; and

    • Any source other than a relative.

    • Applicants can submit up to one additional letter of recommendation with their application (optional)

  • There is no limit to the number of applicants per school.

  • All applications must be grammatically correct and complete to be considered.

  • The scholarship must be applied to the recipient's first semester of tuition expenses at a postsecondary institution. The scholarship is void after the recipient's first semester.

  • It is the responsibility of the student to provide the Tennessee TSA State Advisor with proof of enrollment (Name, Student ID, Status, Term, Registered Courses, etc.) as well as a mailing address for the postsecondary institution's tuition and fees processing center.

  • A check for the monetary award will be mailed to the postsecondary institution once the student has registered for classes.
